Daisy Room
Helping Us Bloom
Welcome to the Daisy Room
Our Daisy Room is where we look after children aged 3 to 4 years old.
This room is run by Sharon, who works with our expert practitioners to provide a stimulating and caring environment.
Building on the developmental point children leave the Poppy Room at, we work hard to enable children to be independent in their learning. To achieve this, we like to follow each child’s interests whilst introducing them to topic themed planning in order to enrich their experiences.
Young children have a natural desire to learn, explore and question. We offer core provisions and an environment that enables this activity in order to capture the moment of engagement for each child. Careful observation is key to utilising our ‘in the moment’ planning approach. This revolves around engineering opportunities to seize the moment when a child shows a level of interest and curiosity that can be drawn out, enhanced and built upon. These moments are essential to a child’s growth and need to be recognised; these are normally called ‘teachable moments’.
Written ‘planning’ is then done retrospectively in the form of observations, records of the interactions and notes on outcomes.
